Protecting Kidneys

Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is a clinical syndrome with multiple heterogenous aetiologies that is associated with significant morbidity and mortality.

There is not specific treatment to reverse AKI and therefore prevention, early recognition and management is paramount. It occurs in over 20% of hospitalisations and is associated with more than x4 likelihood of death.Estimates are that at least 60% start in the community.
